Lolly's right, he looks like King Louie!

Memorial Day

Cannon had to train some folks up in Glennallen. We took an overnight trip up there on Memorial Day. The pics have all posted backwards, so there isn't a consecutive order to things...

Driving on the Glenn Highway--the trees really are this green...and this is taken in the car, behind glass. Here we are just about to go home, after our camping trip in Glennallen.

This is the Matsanuka Glacier...pretty awesome. There is no way to capture the scale of this glacier, but trust me, it's huge!

This is what most of our drive looked like--GORGEOUS and SPECTACULAR! One of the coolest things about AK is not having a lot of drivers on the roads. You are on your own up here!

The old government cabin had really grubby bathroom conditions so Caleb took a bath in the sink, after playing in dirt and pine cones all evening.

Hello? His favorite thing to do was to open and shut, open and shut, open and shut this door in our bedroom!
We slept on 2 twin beds pushed together, with out sleeping bag on top. Needless to say, the government accommodations aren't exactly 5 star.

Caleb was fascinated with this bike parked outside the cabin. He could have spent hours playing with the pedals, wheels and spokes.

Look at him go! He is walking like crazy!

Before we left, we got to post our flag on the house. It was a great feeling to put the flag out.

Here is the garage sale find--the car. We got a package deal with the horse and the car. Caleb loves them both!

Sink baths are the best!

Ride 'Em Cowboy

Oh, the treasures you'll find at a garage sale!  We found this little gem, along with hip waders for me, a dip net for Cannon, some garden hoses, and a car for Caleb.  I'm sure we'll have video of the car on here before too long.

He's been doing this for the past few days...

We are selling a few rugs on c-list and Caleb wanted to play on them while we started rolling them out and taking pictures. He was walking, giggling, crawling...playing chase, walking, giggling, falling...he's so cute, I can't stand it.

Moose proves grass is greener

We had a moose walk in front of our house the other night. It was a baby moose. It wandered to the side of our house and Caleb pounded the windows like crazy, trying to communicate with the odd looking beast. Caleb's pounding and the grass at the side of our house were not enough to keep the moose happy. He saw that our next door neighbor has rhubarb and meandered over to it, rudely ignoring Caleb's adorable face pressed up against the window. I guess next year we'll have to plant rhubarb at the side of our house!
